Crafting

I'm an avid costume, quilt and craft maker. I got the bug from my grandmothers, both of whom love making things by hand. Apparently this kind of thing skips a generation.

My Grandmother Young calls starting a new craft "getting into trouble". She's right. It is trouble, and I'm in all kinds of it. Not only that, but she helps me get into trouble!

This page contains links to some of the trouble I've gotten into in the past. At the moment it's just baby quilts, but I also make costumes, hats, and various and sundry decorations and gift items.

The Quilts

My Grandmother Young taught me how to make quilts, so I owe all of the following to her.

Liam's Baby Feet Quilt (NEW!)
This quilt was made between January and June of 2005 for the son of my friends Arin and Ron. It's my most difficult quilt to date, a triple irish chain with baby feet applique design.

Devon's Baby Quilt
This quilt was made in February and March of 2002 for the daughter of my good friends Jeff and Pasley.

Robert's Baby Quilt
This quilt was made at the same time as Devon's, in February and March of 2002, for my co-worker Elizabeth. Note the similar style to Devon's.

Aidan's Baby Quilt
This quilt was made in May of 2004 for my friends Carrie and Mark. Or, rather, for their first son.

Kale's Baby Quilt
Also made in May of 2004, this quilt was for the first baby of my friends Steve and Terri. Baby quilts apparently never come singly.
